WHAT'S ON?
24/25 SEASON
For our inaugural season, we're showcasing two thought-provoking shows with no obvious villains: Karel Čapek’s R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots), which delves into the ethical complexities of artificial life, and George Bernard Shaw’s Saint Joan, which examines the conflicting views on Joan of Arc’s revolutionary actions. Join us for a season that challenges and enriches our understanding of what it means to be human.
25/26 SEASON
For our 2025-26 season, we invite you to experience two plays that examine the weight of our choices: Rope by Patrick Hamilton, a gripping story of two students, a murder, and a party that threatens to unravel the truth; and Antigone & Ismene, a world-premiere adaptation of Sophocles’ Antigone by Meagan Mulgrew, exploring generational trauma and the burdens of promises made to the dead. Join us for both plays and challenge you to explore the moral conflicts and lasting impact our choices have on both ourselves and the world around us.
ROPE
OCTOBER 2025
—
This October, Riffraff will premiere a brand-new production of Rope by Patrick Hamilton, the play that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s groundbreaking 1948 film of the same name. Rope tells the story of two university students who, after killing their classmate in cold-blood, hide the body in a trunk and then throw a party, just to see if they can get away with the “perfect crime.” But when a suspecting former professor attends, will the boys buckle under the strain of their guilt? One of the great suspense thrillers of our time, Rope is a chilling, immersive examination of privilege, morality, and justice.
ANTIGONE & ISMENE
APRIL 2026
—
Two sisters grieve the deaths of their two warring brothers. One takes revolutionary action against those responsible. The other is left to navigate the ruins of her home and country alone. In this world-premiere adaptation of Sophocles’ famous tragedy by Riffraff Executive Artistic Director, Meagan Mulgrew, Antigone & Ismene is a poetic examination of generational trauma, civil disobedience, and the promises we make to the dead.
